The new Twos is a rebuilt app. Here is what you get, and what works differently from the original.

Why you'd care

If you used the original Twos for years, most of your habits still work. A handful of things moved, and a lot of things are new. Knowing which is which saves a confusing first week.

New in Twos

  • A faster app, everywhere. Twos was rebuilt from the ground up on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux and the web.
  • Richer things. Bold, italics, headings, code and longer notes on a thing. See things and lists.
  • Reminders that do more. Repeats, location reminders, and calendar sync. See set a reminder and location reminders.
  • Carry-over by default. Unfinished to-dos follow you to today on their own. See how unfinished to-dos roll forward.
  • Widgets and Siri. New home screen widgets, and new Siri and Shortcuts actions. See widgets and Siri and Shortcuts.
  • Your own navigation. Choose which views sit in the nav bar and the side menu. See navigation.

What works differently

  • Carry-over no longer asks. The original app asked before moving unfinished to-dos. The new one moves them automatically, unless you turned that off before.
  • Checkboxes are square. The original app used circles. Circles are one setting away.
  • Siri actions are new. Shortcuts you built with the original app's Siri actions need to be rebuilt with the new ones.
  • Widgets need iOS 17. The new home screen widgets run on iOS 17 and later.
