Moving to the new Twos
Settings that changed in the new Twos
Settings you changed in the original Twos carried over. A few defaults are different, and each one is a single setting away.
Why you'd care
If something feels different on the first day, it is usually one of these, and it takes seconds to put back.
What carried over
If you changed these in the original app, the new Twos kept your choice:
- Your nav bar, side menu and Home cards. See Settings Appearance & Accessibility Customize navigation.
- Your start screen. See Settings Appearance & Accessibility Start on.
- Your font and language. See Settings Appearance & Accessibility Font and Settings Appearance & Accessibility Language.
- Left-handed mode, tag position, completion sound and focus length.
- Turning carry-over off, showing the week bar, hiding your streak, and moving things to their reminder's day.
Date and time formats, colors, completed-thing behavior, reminder defaults, calendars, email settings and privacy use the same settings as before, so they did not need to move.
Defaults that changed
These only apply if you never changed the setting in the original app.
| Setting | Original Twos | New Twos | Change it in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unfinished to-dos | Asked before moving them | Move to today on their own | Settings Lists & Things Carry over unfinished to-dos |
| Checkboxes | Circles | Squares | Settings Appearance & Accessibility Circle checkboxes |
| Moving a thing moves its reminder | Off | On | Settings Calendar & Reminders Automatically move reminders when moving things |
Settings that no longer exist
A few settings from the original app have no equivalent in the new one, such as hiding timestamps, hiding placeholder text and the old check-in reminder time. If you miss one, tell us. See contact support.
