Moving to the new Twos
Twos and NewTwos are now one app
Twos and NewTwos are now one app, called Twos. Your lists, your things and your Twos Plus all come with you.
Why you'd care
For a while there were two apps: the original Twos, and NewTwos, the rebuilt version. They shared one account and one set of data the whole time, so nothing you wrote lived in only one of them. Now there is just one app again, and it is the new one, under the name you already know.
What happens on each device
| Where you use it | What happens | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone and iPad, Twos app | Twos updates to the new version like any other update | Nothing. Open it and you are still signed in |
| iPhone and iPad, NewTwos app | NewTwos keeps working, but new features go to Twos | Get the App Store and sign in with the same account |
| Android | The Twos app on Google Play is the new one | Get Google Play and sign in. The old Android app no longer gets updates |
| Mac | Twos for Mac is on the Mac App Store | Get the Mac App Store and sign in |
| Windows and Linux | The desktop app updates itself | Nothing |
| Web | twosapp.com is the new Twos. writethingsdown.com takes you there | Nothing. You stay signed in |
| Chrome | The Twos extension updates itself | Nothing, or sign in once if it asks |
Every device and integration is covered in more detail in every device and integration.
What stays the same
- Your account. Same email, same password, same Google or Apple sign-in.
- Everything you wrote. It was always stored on your account, not in one app, so there is nothing to copy over.
- Twos Plus. If you pay for Plus anywhere, you have it everywhere. See Twos Plus and purchases.
What is different
The new Twos is a rebuilt app, so some things look and work differently. What's new covers the biggest changes, and settings that changed covers the few defaults that moved and how to switch them back.
Tips
- If you have both Twos and NewTwos on one phone, keep Twos. You can delete NewTwos once you have signed in to Twos.
- Sign in with the same method you always used. A different method can open a different, empty account.
