Why you'd care

Most people use Twos in more than one place. This is the checklist for each of them.

iPhone and iPad

  • Original Twos app: it updates to the new Twos. It needs iOS 16 or later. On older versions the original app keeps working, but it no longer gets updates.
  • NewTwos app: get the App Store and sign in with the same account. NewTwos keeps working in the meantime.
  • Widgets: the new widgets need iOS 17 or later. If a widget looks blank after the update, remove it and add it again. See widgets.
  • Siri and Shortcuts: the original app's Siri actions are gone. Rebuild shortcuts with the new actions. See Siri and Shortcuts.

Android

The Twos app on Google Play is the new one. If you have the original Android app, install Google Play and sign in. The original app keeps working for now, but it can no longer be updated. More in Android.

Mac, Windows and Linux

  • Mac: get the Mac App Store from the Mac App Store and sign in. If you used NewTwos for Mac, it keeps working until you switch.
  • Windows and Linux: the desktop app updates itself and is now called Twos.

The web

twosapp.com is now the new Twos. If you used writethingsdown.com, it takes you to twosapp.com and keeps you signed in. Old links to lists and profiles still work. More in the web.

Chrome

The Twos extension updates itself. If it asks you to sign in once, use the same account. More in Chrome.

Connected apps

  • Slack, Raycast and MCP connectors keep working. If one stops, disconnect and connect it again. See Slack, Raycast and MCP.
  • Bluesky stays linked. See Bluesky.
