Notion imports from Notion's own export file.

Before you start

In Notion, export as Markdown & CSV with Include subpages turned on. You can export the whole workspace from Settings, or one page and everything under it from that page's menu. Import the .zip in Settings Integrations Notion without unzipping it.

What comes across

  • Pages become lists. Headings, bullets, numbered lists, checkboxes, nesting, and images come across.
  • Databases become lists with one thing per row.
  • A database with a checkbox or Status column is treated as a task list. Rows become to-dos, and finished rows come across completed.
  • A due date still ahead becomes a reminder. Past dates stay in the note.
  • Tags columns become tags, and a URL column becomes the thing's link.
  • Other properties, and anything written inside a row's page, go into that thing's note.

Tips

  • Export one teamspace or top-level page at a time. It keeps each import under the limit and easy to check.
  • Notion pages are often long documents. After importing, look at the ones that are really lists and tidy them into Twos's shape.
