Day One imports from Day One's JSON export, and every entry lands on its own day.

Before you start

In Day One, open Settings, then Import/Export, and export your journals as JSON. Import the .zip it makes in Settings Integrations Day One.

What comes across

  • Each entry becomes one thing on the day list for the date you wrote it, in the time zone you wrote it in. Days that don't exist yet in Twos are created.
  • The entry's first line is the thing, and the rest of the entry is its note.
  • Photos are attached, when you import the .zip.
  • Tags become tags, starred entries come across starred, and the place is added to the note.
  • Each journal shows as one row in the preview, so you can pick which journals to bring in.

Tips

  • Your past entries show up in past years, so a Day One archive brings your on-this-day history with it.
  • Import one journal first to check it looks right, then the rest.
