Free, Plus, and what you keep

Writing things down is free forever. Twos Plus unlocks the organizing and customization layers on top.

Why you'd care#

The split is deliberate and worth understanding, because it tells you what the product thinks it is. Capture, days, carry-over, reminders, search, sharing and collaboration are all free, with no cap on how much you write. If Twos ever stops being worth paying for, you do not lose the ability to write things down.

Free, with no limits#

Unlimited things and lists. Daily lists and carry-over. Every capture integration. Voice. Photos. Reminders, including repeating and location-based ones. Calendar sync. Search. Bookmarks and stars, in whatever order you drag them into. Memories. Trash. All the formatting: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, links, highlight, text colour, cancel, code and quote blocks. Headings. Tags and sublists. Auto-sort. Review. Sharing, public lists and collaboration. Passcodes and blur. Map view.

What Plus adds#

Broadly, the things that help once you have a lot of material:

• Organizing: templates, layouts, clones, mentions and backlinks, archive, keeping Trash forever
• Views: week view, weekly digest, universe
• Customization: the nav bar, Home, the edit bar, swipe actions, fonts, app icons, colour themes, wallpapers, confetti and completion sounds
• AI: unlimited chat, Ramble, choosing the model

Free Plus from friends#

You can try Plus without paying by inviting people. Each friend who joins with your referral link or code gives you a free month, up to 3 months per account, and gives your friend a free week. None of it uses up the free trial. See invite friends.

What you keep#

This is the part most products are vague about, so to be plain:

• Anything you bought with coins is yours permanently, subscription or not. Buying a feature outright is a real purchase, not a rental.
• Some features are grandfathered. Accounts created before a feature was gated keep it free. The docs mark these where they apply, and the marker is generated from the app's own entitlement table rather than typed by hand, so it cannot go stale.
• Cancelling does not delete anything. You keep every thing you wrote. Plus-only features become read-only rather than destructive: an archived list stays archived, you just cannot archive more.

Tips#

• Start free and stay there until something specific annoys you. The feature you end up wanting is rarely the one you would have guessed on day one.
• If you only want one Plus feature, look at buying it with coins rather than subscribing.
