Reminders and your calendar

The Calendar view

iPhoneiPadAndroidWebMacWindowsLinuxWatchUpdated 2026-09-14

A time grid showing your reminders and, if you have sync on, your calendar events.

Why you'd care

A list tells you what is scheduled. A grid tells you whether it fits. Those are different questions, and the second one is why calendars exist.

The 60-second version

Open Calendar from the nav bar or side menu. Tap an empty slot to create something at that time.

Going further

Tapping a slot creates at that time. You do not have to create a reminder and then set its time. The slot is the time.

Overlaps sit side by side. Two things at once are shown next to each other rather than stacked, so a double booking is visible rather than hidden.

Empty days can be hidden. Settings Calendar & Reminders Show calendar section even when no things are scheduled controls whether days with nothing on them take up room.

Events come from sync. Without calendar sync this view shows only Twos reminders. See Apple and Google Calendar.

Other time zones get their own column. Add up to two cities and the day, 3-day and week views show an hour column for each, to the left of your own, with the current time marked in every zone. See time zones.

Tips

  • Use the day or week scale for planning and the month scale only for orientation.
  • Making a list from an event is the fastest way to prepare for a meeting.
