Privacy and your data
What Twos collects, who can see your things, and which features send anything anywhere.
Who can see your things
Only you. Nothing you write is public. Every way of showing something to someone else takes a deliberate action: inviting them to a list, sharing a link, publishing a list, or showing it on your profile. If you have never done those, nothing of yours is visible to anyone.
Nobody at Twos reads them. The only exception is a support case where you ask for help and give permission first.
What Twos collects
Only what the app needs to work:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name and email | Your account, sign-in, and important emails like password resets |
| The things and lists you write | Storing them so they sync across your devices |
| Basic usage: device, browser, screens opened, load times | Finding bugs and deciding what to improve |
| Approximate location when you add a thing | The World Map. See below |
| Messages you send to support | So we have the history if you write again |
Twos never sells your data, and never collects details like age, gender or biometrics.
About the World Map. When you add a thing, an approximate, city-level location is saved, blurred to about 11 km. Other people only see total counts by area, never your things, your name, or where you are. It is on by default, and Settings Advanced World Map turns it off.
Where it lives
Your things are stored on Twos servers in the US and cached on your devices, which is what makes sync, search and recovery work. They are encrypted in transit and at rest.
What sends data out
Worth being specific, since this is where people reasonably want detail:
| Feature | What leaves |
|---|---|
| Chat and Ask AI | The things relevant to your question, to the AI provider |
| Smart Suggestions | The text being analyzed |
| Photo text | The image, to be read |
| Calendar and Reminders sync | Data exchanged with the service you connected |
| Apps you connect through the API | Whatever you authorized them to read |
| Publishing | Whatever you published, deliberately |
Your things are never used to train AI models, ours or the AI provider's. All of the AI features can be turned off individually or together. See turning AI off.
Going further
Locks are screen privacy, not encryption. Blur, list passcodes and the app passcode control what is displayed. See passwords, 2FA and passcodes.
You can leave with everything. Export is available on every plan. See export your things.
The privacy policy is the authoritative document. This page is orientation, not the legal text.
Tips
- If you want maximum privacy, turn off AI features, the World Map, and the public side with Settings Advanced Feed. Each is a single switch and none of them affects writing.
- Read the list of what leaves before deciding. It is smaller than most people assume.
