- Sura 5 - Ayat 18
- وَقَالَتِ ٱلْيَهُودُ وَٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ نَحْنُ أَبْنَـٰٓؤُاْ ٱللَّهِ وَأَحِبَّـٰٓؤُهُۥۚ قُلْ فَلِمَ يُعَذِّبُكُم بِذُنُوبِكُمۖ بَلْ أَنتُم بَشَرٌ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَۚ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَاۖ وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
- Waqalati alyahoodu wa(al)nnasara nahnu abnao Allahi waahibbaohu qul falima yuAAaththibukum bithunoobikum bal antum basharun mimman khalaqa yaghfiru liman yashao wayuAAaththibu man yashao walillahi mulku a(l)ssamawati wa(a)lardi wama baynahuma wailayhi almaseer(u)
- The Jews and the Christians said, “We are the sons of Allah and His beloved ones”; say, “Why does He then punish you for your sins? In fact you are human beings, part of His creation; He forgives whomever He wills, and punishes whomever He wills; and for Allah only is the kingship of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and towards Him is the return.”
