Thu May 29, 2025by Nicola on TwosWe have 31 calves at the farm now. I help with the feeding every morning. Apart from two new additions, all the calves are still on milk. They’re all pretty good apart from bay 3 who have almost daily shenanigans. My pal, 39, doesn’t like being on the end teat so we have to make sure he doesn’t end up there otherwise he head butts the feeder! Little White Bull is another friendly calf. The others are gradually getting used to cuddles. They’re getting bigger now and quite tall. Tiny (88) is the smallest. She’s a twin (known as freemartins) and was, we think, premature. We’re working at weaning them off the milk - they have barley straw and hay, as well as corn.
