- Carribean or African Disapora Studies LibGuide
- *Alex's Correspondence with Dr. Hall*
"We had chatted about creating a Caribbean Studies libguide, or perhaps more broadly an African Diaspora Studies libguide when we met back in the fall, and one of our student librarians J.J. Watson-MacKay, has kindly volunteered to take on working on this project. We are hoping it will serve the classes you teach in History, but also the growing list of courses dealing with these topics across the arts.
We are just in the initial phases of working on it, but with your research area, I wanted to reach out and see if there are any resources you think would be valuable to include? We were also wondering if you might be willing to share your syllabi so we can get a sense of what subjects are being covered in your courses.
Again, we are still working out the parameters and exact scope, but anything you can share with your expertise on Caribbean studies or African diaspora studies would be much appreciated!"

Early in 1819, the Royal Press of Hayti, established in 1817, published its final issue of the Almanach Royal. This now 147-page volume, published as the issue for the year 1820, would bear the date that was to mark the downfall of Christophe’s kingdom and the suicide of the king himself.
