Wed Jan 22, 2025by Nicola on TwosYesterday a ewe with 2 dots (i.e. expecting twins) had delivered in between my farm visits. George (who has sheep in the shed) had penned up the ewe and twins. The ewe looked quite big and I had a feeling that there was a third lamb. But there was no sign of feet or head. However, she was pawing the ground and licking her lips, a sign of another potential birth. It wasn't going to be straightforward and I was debating what to do next when George arrived. I told him I thought there was another lamb. Initially, he didn't think there was but I asked him to check. Lamb no 3 was there but needed rearranging before he could be born. He arrived, alive, and seemed to be a feisty little thing. I checked on the triplets this morning and they're all doing well.
