Fri Jan 17, 2025by Nicola on TwosI'm in charge again at the farm today. I've done the morning round. I'm going back after lunch. So far today, one new lamb in the paddock, a lamb in the shed, and another lamb in pen three. Depending on activities, I may be moving three ewes and six lambs to the paddock to make room for other new arrivals. Phil makes this look easy but I might just move one ewe at a time. I'm also contemplating a 'lamb pram' - a box that sits in a wheelbarrow so the lambs can go in there and Mum can follow. Phil will probably roll his eyes but it's what works for me. The other option is get all the ewes and lambs in the yard and get them to follow a bag of corn! When the paddock ewes saw me, they all ran from one end of the paddock over to me. Poor little lamb, born in the last 12 hours, also had to run after its Mum. There's no easing into life in the sheep world! Dot Dot came over to say hello. One of my favourite parts of the day.
