Tues Jan 14, 2025by Nicola on TwosHow Dot Dot got her name. In case you missed this part of the story … Last year when I first met Dot Dot, she had two dots and a question mark on her side. Farmers do this to denote how many lambs they anticipate a ewe is carrying. Sometimes, during scanning, an extra lamb can be unclear, hence the question mark. Initially I referred to her as Dot Dot Question Mark, which got shortened for ease. And then, when she gave birth to twins, the Question Mark was dropped. Technically, this year, she should be Dot but she’ll always be Dot Dot now. Last year, when I started naming sheep, Phil the farmer, discouraged me from doing that. Now he refers to Dot Dot by name. And he christened Tinkles! He’s come a long way!
