Came across this quote by E. L. Doctorow and I think it's more applicable to how we can approach tasks in general: "[Writing is] like driving a car at night: you never see the further than your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way." Time anxiety, or feeling burdened when looking at ALL the tasks you have to do hits hard. Take a deep breath, understand that you're human, be compassionate to yourself. Focus on a single task, one at a time - no tunnel vision. You don't need to tell yourself "I need to get all of this done". Tell yourself "I need to get this one (out of all these) done right now, and we'll see how things pan out". The secret to getting started, at least for me, seems to be just focusing on the single most simple atomic action that can be carried out.by NotJustSid on TwosCame across this quote by E. L.
