Notes • April 27, 2024by johnataylor on TwosMidland Day News • Accent • Section C • A Nation's Soldier • Thur, Apr 8, 2004This image is the full-page feature in the Accent section of the Midland Daily News, featuring the story of my sister, Katherine Wormer. Kathy served with the Midland, Michigan-based 1460th National Guard Transportation Company in Iraq beginning in 2003. All but one of the 1460th returned home safe, although many of them, including my sister, returned scarred and continue to carry the burdens of war. The Article features my mother, Judy Taylor my niece, Allison Falkowski (my nephew Quinn Falkowski is in the background) and my sister, Kathy. The 20-year-old copy was recently discovered in some of my mother-in-law's, Anneve Haskins, things. She passed away in 2021 and my father-in-law gave some of her papers and journals to my wife Virginia. We have several generations of family members who have served in the military, my sister being a part of the most recent. This discovery is a treasure, and is now preserved in this image. I am going to pass the original on to my niece.---
