Today I completed by journey back to iOS after being gone four years. My thoughts:
I don’t love Apple (or Google). It’s not the brand or the platform that brings me back.
I’ve owned Samsung’s best note taking phones, earbuds, and a Samsung laptop. All very good.
Reliability and stability are the reasons I’m back. Over the course of 4 years I have worked through versions of Android and the Google Play Store with frustrations of app instability.
Worst of all, developers tend to build platforms on iOS first, making me wait six months for an Android version. Many refuse to build Android apps at all.
I really prefer the typing keyboard on iOS than any keyboard ever developed on Android. It’s attention to detail and the user experience that makes me glad to be back.
There’s no perfect OS or ecosystem. The Nothing phone might be the next iPhone contender for me. An Android phone with the ambition to beat Apple by playing in the middle of both iOS and Android worlds. For example, Nothing earphones are available today and Nothing watch is coming soon. I wish them well and I’ll be watching.
