Like really be a rapper?. Not just saying you want to be a rapper and writing a couple of bars for fun when you have a burst of inspiration.. Like constantly writing songs, going to the studio, studying past rappers, getting inspired by other rappers, putting out music, learning, getting better, and putting out better and better music.. Probably not. Because it’s not easy. It’s not something people stick to, but that is what it takes to become a rapper.. Sure, you may have tried to be a rapper by writing a couple rhymes or putting out a song or two, but to be a rapper you have to work on it for a long ass time. It takes people years and years to become a successful rapper, so unless you’ve worked at it constantly or are in the process of working at it everyday, you haven’t tried and aren’t trying to be a rapper. It’s hard and that’s why most people don’t do it.. It can take hours or days to write a song, record, master, publish. And that’s just one song. You need 8-20 songs to put out a mixtape or an album.. People don’t understand what it really takes to be a rapper.. I’ve always aspired to be a rapper, but I’ve never put in the time or effort to be a rapper. It’s a dream and if I ever really want to turn that dream into reality I’ll need to dedicate a lot of time and energy into actually being a rapper. More than just an hour or so every year whenever I have a little inspiration. I need to sit down and do the work.. But this is what it takes to do anything. Any successful writer will tell you about the countless hours they have spent alone writing. It takes time to do anything and trying isn’t just putting in a little effort. It takes dedication. There is no shortcut.
