I may be late on the trend, but WeWork is such a bullsh*t idea. Their business model is like - let's go out and buy 1000 lemonade stands then have parents get their kids to work at them. You tell me how that's any different from your boss giving you access to a WeWork office. A place to do a job, which you hate, do not make enough money doing, and look forward to the sweet release of going home for dinner. Now don't get me wrong, sometimes operating a lemonade stand can be fun. But only for like ONE day. I prefer the more cheap route. Go to a local coffee shop, buy a $2 americano, and sit there for 5 hours until I get bored and go home. Rinse, repeat, find another coffee shop the next day. So if I were the owner of a business with employees, I'd spend the $10,000 a month in office space on Starbucks gift cards. Just my Twos cents. This blog was inspired by a thing that I wrote on my “Stand Up“ list - June 22nd, 2021.. Co-working space? No thanks. I’ll just buy a $2 coffee and sit there for 8 hours.
