- Don’t be surprised that people won't welcome you the minute you meet them
- With some you will have to earn their trust first
- With some people you will have to be consistently nice to, even for months, before they will warm up to you
- Why is this? -- It’s not necessarily you.
- It might be that they don’t trust people in general
- It might be that you have a reputation that precedes you
- It might be they can't evaluate your character
- They might be afraid of getting hurt or betrayed in relationships. One person told me they didn't like me because I looked like someone named Mike whom they didn't like.
- The key to winning people over is consistency. If you’re going to smile, smile to everyone. If you’re going to talk, talk to everyone. Be the same reliable person at work, at church, and at the coffee shop. The consistent sower gets the harvest . ~ Michael Potter
