- Habits are fromed in a 3 step cycle
- Cue
- Habit / Routine
- Reward
- ADHD is charcterized as a regulation disorder
- Regulation also goes by the psudeonyms:
- Self Efacacy*
- Executive function
- Ability
- Getting stuff done
- Personal responsiblity
- Bad habits V.S. Good habits
- Good habits are genrealy flowed with the intent to abotain a final goal. No one eats rice and brocoli on the daily because it amkes them feel good.
- Becase of the far off goal good habits need CONSIOUS REGUALTION to get from routine to reward
- Because of this It is hard for people with ADHD to bridge the gap in the habit cycle
- Bad habits on the other hand require very little time to do. If i were to time myself, it would most likely take me 10 sec max to open instagram and go to reels
- Someone once said, that social media companies gave engineers a rectangle and told them to make it the most addicting thing ever.
- The very short time between routine and reward makes bad habits like fast food and social media very easy to make and maintain. Especialy for fADHD
- nuerotransmiters
- Dopamine is released with the rewards
- easy rewards make about as much dopamine as hard rewards.
- Creating outside dopamine (Rewards) can help bridge the gap from hard routine to reward
- If scrolling is worth "1 dopamine"
- A coffee would be worth more dopamine.
- Repitition makes your brain do stuff!
- make your brain your ally
- Be aware of your brain
- Small steps climb a mountian
