- THE BASICS
- THE SUBWAY
- I recommend getting the app, City Mapper, as it'll tell you everything such as train times, station locations, directions, etc. I'll write down some of the main lines though.
- the trains run pretty late, $290 per ride or just hop it if there's no police lol
- 1/2/3, A/C, and B/D trains go up and down the west side of manhattan
- 4/5/6 and trains go up AND down the east side
- N/R/W trains start in queens and go into manhattan and down through midtown. Q train meets up with this line but starts in the Upper East Side
- Museums:
- The Met (Free if you give a nyc area code like 10128 ;)
- ADDRESS: 1000 5th Ave, New York, NY 10028
- MAP
- Iconiqueee. The steps are just as iconic. If the roof deck is open defintely go there, it will be near the modern art section. I practically lived here when I lived in NYC. First,, GET A MAP. The Met is hugeee so you're gonna need a map. I would recommend either going to the right towards the Egyptian Wing, go right and head into the greek sculptures and art OR I would go straight up the grand staircase to the classic renaissance and early european paintings. That section goes through different art movements as well. They usually have pop up exhibitions so def check that out. Theres a few sculpture sections so def go see them they're all amazing. My one secret hidden gem is in the asian art work section and is called this hidden chinese zen garden area which is room 217 on the map. I could go on and on about this amazing museum. The last thing is that the Met is also compiled of several different buildings and then they built them together, so keep an eye out for all the different building types.
- The Whitney (around $14)
- ADDRESS: 99 Gansevoort St, New York, NY 10014
- OUTSIDE:
- The Whitney is an American Art Museum located in the Meatpacking District ;) It has 8 Floors, is attached to The High Line, and has an amazing view of the city on the top floor. I also love just walking through this neighborhood as it has been heavily modernized but the streets are still cobblestone style so its a cute place to explore too. Pop up on the High Line after or even before and look at my separate note on that ♡
- MoMa (around $12-$14)
- ADDRESS: 11 W 53rd St, New York, NY 10019
- COURTYARD (no admission needed)
- The name says it all, this museum has modern art. Lots of iconic paintings like Starry Night and Monet's waterlilies. A cute museum and they always rotate out exhibits. I used to live nearby on the east side and worked on 5th ave at Abercrombie (lol) and this area is very busy. It's close to the park though, you could walk to Hell's kitchen from here. The location is very versatile on what you want to do next. Plenty of food options around too.
- The Guggenheim
- ADDRESS: 1071 5th Ave, New York, NY 10128
- OUTSIDE & INSIDE
- Honestly, not my favorite museum but it is very captivating and fun to visit more than anything. It focuses on contemporary, modern, impressionist, and post-impressionist artworks, with rotating exhibits. Literally sits across from central park and is cute to put on a route if you're walking by.
- Cooper Hewitt Museum ($7-$16)
- ADDRESS: 2 E 91st St, New York, NY 10128
- OUTSIDE
- INSIDE
- Cute lil museum next to the park as well and close by to the Guggenheim. The Building itself is very historic but the art inside feels very new generation and design heavy. It's also a Smithsonian Museum. The Jackie Kennedy Reservoir is right across the street too in the park.
- The Museum of Ice Cream
- INSIDE:
- ADDRESS: 558 Broadway, New York, NY 10012
- Very visually your vibe and it would be cute for pictures. Would remind me of the cake pictures you did. Super fun from what I've heard and close to some other things I'm suggesting.
- Food/Drink:
- Ladureé
- SOHO location
- This french macaroon place is incredible tbh! it’s very cozy and there’s plenty of other options like coffee and pastries plus (at least the soho location) it has a whole seating/restaurant area if you wanna dine in.

- Union Sq location
- My god this is one of the things I miss the most from NYC. Their chicken is so fucking good and their range of sauces is really great. Everything can be paired with fries too. One by Union Station one near NYU in the East/West Village area.

- ADDRESS: 1070 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10022
- My freshman year dorm was on 55th between 2nd ave and 3rd and was right around the corner from this place. I show it to everyone because they have the best New York bagels, it's this small little shop, their range in options (i.e. cream cheese flavors)
- The Holy Trinity (Dunkin, Checkers, Popeyes)
- OUTSIDE
- LOCATION: Off the J/M/Z Line at Myrtle Av (and Broadway) stop
- Obvi we've talked about her. She's an icon, a legend, and she is the moment,, okay.
- Pocket Bar
- ADDRESS: 455 W 48th Street, New York, NY 10036
- OUTSIDE
- This is like my home bar in NYC tbh. The original location is on W 48th and is this cute lil beer and wine bar with an amazing energy to it. Play all the classic queer music mainly from the 80's, 90's, and 2000's but do play a mix of pop too. Their second location is literally a block up in the same spot and is called Back Pocket bar, pretty much identical size and vibe with different drink options. They also just opened a 3rd location on 57th street too that I haven't been to yet.

- The Nintendo Store
- OUTSIDE:
- ADDRESS: 10 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10020
- As a former employee (hehe), when I worked they limited the amount of customers bc of covid and such, not sure what it's like now so there's always a line. Downstairs is pretty much all super mario based but they also have the game wall, accessories, etc. too. Upstairs is where pokemon, splatoon, animal crossing, and zelda are. They also have a big screen and 4 smaller screens to play games on. Overall pretty cute :)
- Rockefeller Center
- Following the Nintendo Store, Rockefeller Center has a bunch of shops in the lower level. They were building more when I worked there so they're bound to have a lot of new places down there. There's lots of food options. Also visiting the top is cute to do too if you haven't before. Best skyline view tbh. They also have the ice skating rink there in the winter.
- SoHo
- SoHo is so beautiful and a big fashion/shopping capital. I worked at Levi's in SoHo and I love the store, plus there's tons of other stores all around that area like Nike, Zara, Muji, Uniqlo, etc.
