Notion vs Twos: Which is the Best PKM for You?
by Parker · 70 things on Twos
- A comparison of two different PKM approaches
- As our attention spans decrease, writing things down is becoming more important to our daily lives.
- We consume more information than ever before, so we need a reliable system to help us remember things.
- I started writing things down in Google Docs, Apple Notes, Evernote, and notecards. I've put tasks in Trello, Apple Reminders, and sticky notes. But, I ended up scratching my own itch with Twos, the best place to write *things* down.
- Notion puts organizing your information on steroids. Users can create databases, dashboards, and company wiki pages.
- Twos takes the opposite approach focusing on quick and easy capture of *things*.
- This article will compare two different ways to manage your information.
- Notion
- Notion is a powerful personal knowledge management system.
- Notion has over 500 types of blocks—from headings to databases—to store large amounts of information.
- For people interested in wikis, docs, project management, and more, Notion is a great option.

- Powerful: databases, wikis, calendars
- Established company, recently valued at $10B
- Supports all devices
- Automations (new)
- Many views: tables, kanban, timeline, gallery, etc.

- Twos
- Twos is a simple, all-in-one place to write *things* down.
- *Things* are the pieces of information you write down in Twos. You keep all of your *things*—notes, to-dos, reminders, thoughts, events, ideas, and more—in one place.
- For people who want a quick and easy place to write *things* down, Twos is everything you need.

- Clean and simple
- All-in-one
- Daily lists
- Easy sharing and collaboration
- Active community and founder access (Hi 👋)
- Cons
- Limited integrations (text, email, calendar)
- Only lists (no tables or kanban)
- Limited formatting options
- Newer company (3 years)
- How are they similar?
- Both platforms break down your information in unique ways. Notion uses blocks and Twos has *things*.
- They're both powerful. Notion has more features with different views and databases. If you're looking for more than a task manager or a note-taking app, Twos will also suit your needs. Twos combines notes, tasks, reminders, and calendars all in a simple way.
- Both platforms have templates, AI, task management, and even linking between pages.
- How are they different?
- Notion leans into the enterprise user with their Business and Enterprise tiers.
- Twos is more focused on consumer users and small groups. Twos is a free app with sharing and collaboration features built in.
- Twos uses days—otherwise known as daily lists—and lists to organize your *things*. Days help you plan and capture thoughts throughout the day. You can also carry over any unfinished to-dos each day automatically.
- Notion uses pages and teamspaces to organize your blocks.
- Twos has auto-date detection to set reminders with your natural language.
- Twos has a social component called Twos World. You can share lists and *things* with other people, and discover and save new *things* to use personally.
- Quick breakdown
- Difficulty: Twos
- Twos is much simpler to use and navigate. Days and lists make it easy to capture and organize your *things.*
- Setting up Notion can be time-consuming and challenging.
- Price: Twos
- Both applications are free to start with. Twos can also be free for life with all features and upgrades.
- Twos does offer a few premium features on its mobile app, but you can buy them with the coins earned while using Twos.
- Notion's Plus tier is $8-10/mo for more file uploads, guests, file history, and blocks for teams. Notions AI is also an $8-10/mo add-on and not included in any other tier.
- Power: Notion
- Notion is much more powerful. If you're managing databases, running automation, or integrating with other tools, Notion will most likely fulfill your needs.
- Twos is all-in-one for notes, tasks, reminders, events, journaling, and more, but it still lacks in integrations, different views, and team management.
- Speed: Twos
- Twos was designed to quickly capture *things*. It's a mobile-first application and has added a Chrome extension, Siri, widgets, and text and email integrations.
- Notion has poor performance on their mobile app, so most people use it on their desktop computers.
- Which PKM is best for you?
- It depends on what you are looking for. If you want to write *things* down and remember and share *things*, Twos is a breath of fresh air in a world of complex PKM apps.
