- Pre-run thoughts:
- Doing a 6 - 1 - 1 workout today, which is a 6 mile tempo, a mile fast, and then a mile even faster. It's a pretty hard workout but rewarding if you do a good job. I ate a bagel and jelly before practice. I didn't get that much sleep with the game and friends and stuff, but I don't feel too bad. Also had some coffee before practice.
- How fast did you go: 2 mile warmup at 7:43 per mile, 6 mile tempo at 5:05 per mile, mile at 4:42, mile at 4:21, 2 mile cooldown at 7:21 per mile
- How far did you run: 12 total miles
- Specifics: 6 - 1 - 1 workout
- Post-run thoughts:
- I felt really good! The tempo felt pretty easy, and the first mile felt really good also. I had to push a bit on the last mile, and I was out really fast that mile, but I was bale to close pretty solid. Tempoed with Q then ran the last half of mile 1 with Garrett and last half of mile 2 with TJ. Workout got me super excited for the season, especially since the team did so well. We had sooo many guys run right around 4:30 on the last mile after a really long workout, and I know coach is super happy with our fitness right now, and he thinks we can do big things.
- Nutrition and recovery after: We did weights and foam rolled, then we picked up Howie at home and went to Taylor's donuts because they were having a sale for their first year open.
- End of day reflection:
- It was a really good day! Started off the day with an awesome workout with the boys, and Kenadi had a really good workout too! I'm excited to watch her and the girls race because I think they are way better than they have been lately. I went downtown with Will, Quenton, and Isaac to get lunch, then we went to the record store which was cool. We hit the antique mall too to look for some pieces for Rock Chalk Choice Awards, but we didn't really find anything there or at Arizona Trading Co. Then we went home and chilled for a little before going disc golfing with Howie and Logan. It was fun and good to see Logan since I haven't been seeing him as much. Then we went home and chilled out while a recruit came over to see the house and meet some of the guys. After that I watched a little TV and went to bed super tired because it was a really big day.
