The question of tasks

- The question of tasks
- I want to start each day in Twos fresh. I want a blank page. I don't want to go into a day which is full of tasks. I will always have tasks to do, but I don't want the sight of them in each day.
- So what's the alternative?
- One alternative is to create Task Lists and pin them as bookmarks. I have done this for Admin Tasks, Blogging Ideas, Pastoral Tasks, Personal Tasks, Shopping List, Vision & Ministry Tasks.
- This is good as it categorises my tasks. It is efficient to work for an hour, for example, on one type of task. If my brain is in admin mode, I need to stick with it and get as much done as possible, instead of flitting between different types of tasks.
- However, a problem arises in that some tasks in each category are more important or urgent than others. I need to be able to see quickly which tasks I need to complete first, or which tasks are most important, or which tasks are going to take a lot of time, etc.
- Enter the Eisenhower Matrix
- So perhaps I need four more lists. You've guessed it.
- Urgent and Important
- Urgent but not Important
- Important but not Urgent
- Not Important and not Urgent
- How many Bookmarks can I have on the left of my screen? More like, how many Bookmarks can my mental space cope with? I will try this tactic, and copy each task from each category into the relevant Matrix List.
- Any further ideas?
- I am wondering if anyone else has any wisdom on this? What do you do if you have an abundance of tasks to complete each week? How do you categorise them and get them done efficiently?
- Finally...
- Thanks again to Twos App for creating the opportunity for me to be so flexible in the way I get things done and remember things. I know of no other app like this. I've said it before and I'll say it again - this is revolutionary.
- EXTRA
- One possibility I've just been made aware of is using Admin/Pastoral/etc categories, and then hash-tagging tasks according to priorities.
- Right now I have deleted all list categories and have replaced by tagging each thing according to category. Then I have placed each thing in it's relevant place in the Eisenhower Matrix.
