- "I am thankful for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home... I am thankful for the piles of laundry and ironing because it means my loved ones are nearby." -Nancie J. Carmody
- "Make your bed every day"
- "I get more done when the house is clean."
- "I am more creative. Instead of seeing nothing but the mess, my mind is clear to see the creative potential around me, and my desk and table are clear to spread out and complete a project."
- "I know a little mess doesn't bother some people, but I have a really hard time creating anything -- or enjoying those creative moments-- when I am surrounded by dirt and clutter.
- General guidelines when cleaning:
- Start at one end of the house and work your way to the other end.
- Create an organized storage for all the clutter that ends up all over the house
- Save sweeping, mopping and vacuuming until the end and do it all at once. Vacuuming once or twice a week is usually plenty for most homes.
- Save glass cleaning for the end
- Keep daily shower clear in the shower area and spray down after each use
- Store your toiler brush in a container of bleach; replace the bleack once a week
- A clean house makes it nice to simply be at home.
