by Joe · 25 things on Twos
- Works as a product manager for AT&T
- Has a follow-up interview with LTK tomorrow for an influencer marketing role
- Had an idea in college for Christmas shopping lists so people knew what to buy for their significant others/friends with barcode integrations
- Believes that the biggest value add of Twos to influencers (since there are a lot of affiliate product marketing companies like LTK) would be the ability to manage the backend of being an influencer in one place
- Lexie started her growth on social through posting wedding videos that were doing well and decided to keep them running. Only about 6 months in.
- Had a lot of girls reaching out to her because they were new to Dallas so she created the Happy Hour Social club to fill the need. But events are hard.
- Even at her size, already gets about 10 reach outs per day.
- There are a few different ways that brands reach out/compensate
- They send product in exchange for posting
- They send products with no expectations - which is usually met with a "Hell yeah" and then if it legit helps, becomes organic in posts
- They reach out to inquire about her interest in posting, in which she typically asks what their budget for this kind of project is
- They reach out through an influencer connection platform
- There are a ton of Influencer connection platforms but it sometimes comes across as impersonal and even cheap/scammy
- UGC - user-generated content which is to say creative people make the content, but do not post it to their audience
- Whitelisting and boosting content made by creators is often a very successful route to get promoted videos out to the most people
- Looks like the influencer is posting it personally, but has a learn more option that directs to the product page and can be boosted to hundreds of thousands of people
- People often will not click your links
- Influencers are often taken advantage of by brands all the way up from 5,000 followers because they steal their content and plaster their faces all over the internet
- Making content takes a long time and even a smaller influencer will realize eventually regardless of how much they associate with the brand
- Getting paid by the brands is hard
- Uses One Note at work, Apple notes for personal items, had a day by day calendar at one point, has little notepads by her desk
- I mentioned that she would be a great addition to the team - has the entrepreneurial mindset, has experience building an audience, clearly great experience making content, and a lot of qualities of someone who would fit well into startup culture
- Also mentioned that consulting work on the side could be great for us in establishing our outreach goals
- Which she mentioned might be great but could also be a conflict of interest if she locks down the LTK stuff
