- Male or female? How often are you on your phone? These are the few segments we are going to target initially
- Talk to the users you already have.
- What's challenging? What's missing? What are you looking for? Do you copy recipes into your phone? Then turn that into a customer segment
- What's different than anything that comes on your phone?
- What are we helping you with?
- What's missing from the app?
- What would you like it to do?
- What are the personal struggles that make people empowered to use our app?
- Problem-focused interview. No what if.
- How many tools are you using on a daily basis?
- What's challenging about it?
- What's your frustration?
- What's painful about it?
- Build prototype.
- See if it helps your daily life.
- Not about your app, about the potential
- Need to know who they are, know about their daily lives
- What is it they're wanting? What is next? What do they want next?
- Build a segment around ourselves, graphics around ourselves
- Pick 3 or 4 around us and interview around problem-focused interview questions
- Get them talking and telling stories
- What have they tried, what challenges, how often, what biggest pain points, different problems? How big of a pain point?
- Once you validate this is a solution for them, then figure out who they are, where did they go to school, career, income level, influencer
- Searching for terms they are looking for. Hear their specific language, specific terminology, keywords for marketing, and competitors using the same keywords, they will be in your customer's faces
- ✓ Get template on questions from Shannon, how organize the information we learn
- Build a segment around each of the features of the app. Reminders, text, sharing (chef), a different segment for each feature
- Overarching segment for the whole app
- Where is the biggest segment? Who has the biggest problem?
- Write a three word prompt to fill in the blank when referring a friend and get testimonials
- Facebook and Instagram problem was a lack of connection and they continuously iterated toward a better solution
- Already using tools is a way to narrow down on our segment
- Looking for the biggest market segment
