8/8/22 - Lou + Parker user interview
by Parker · 42 things on Twos
- Works with non profits, volunteers, clean ups
- Manages multiple departments
- His expertise is in community engagement
- Matthew mcconaughy?
- They have worked with his nonprofit but he has never met him
- Experience and details are important in his work
- Make a list of things they need to include in an email because details are important
- Has emails, things all over the place, really likes to keep things in one place, source of truth
- Use twos and notion
- Notion for notes, 1 on 1s, table of data which goes into twos as action items and to file them away,
- Notion is more of data holding, not good for quick access and calendar integration
- Twos: Likes today, calendar, called his today his Twos-day lol, carry over unfinished to-dos, scheduling, week view to plan
- Has tried a lot of productivity tools: Trello (too complicated and slow), tick-tick, Asana, Basecamp, Friday (no longer available), automation isn't really useful, likes how basic Twos is
- Uses Outlook at work
- What made Twos stick?
- Simplicity cleanliness, doesn't need multiple categories or columns (like Trello), one category, simple, day, connecting calendar to easily see events
- Would be nice to take notes on events (told him about drop onto Today and use sublist, is going to try that out)
- This is a game changer, new list for each meeting and have action items inside them
- Almost strictly for to-dos
- Like carry over and planning on future days
- Most people have tasks and don't schedule them out. It's like Trello, Asana, Notion. Piles up and becomes overwhelming
- Only app he has ever paid for is Strava
- Is willing to pay for the sustainability of the company, wants to invest for long term
- Does not do social media, wrong person for social, likes the idea that he can completely turn it off
- Knows it is a rabbit hole and would rather do things
- Understands the idea for sharing personal things with friends and family
- Started talking about how it would be useful for coordinating and sharing weddings, parties, college reunions, etc.
- Great way to spread lists and notes and get new users
- Advice on building a community: go where they are, go to socials
- Whatever your target market is, figure out where they are and target them there
- Focus on a market. Look for the greatest ROI
- Be strategic. Pick an industry or market
- Make sure you have the capacity to onboard (experience, servers, etc.)
- Twos ideas:
- When you hover a thing, next to select, add a move to tomorrow button
- Easier to focus on what is most important today
- More tag colors, more colors, likes to use different shades of blue for the same category
- Add a color code or color picker
- Add more priority, top priority, light yellow shade, reorder to the top
- Star for priority or exclamation for priority
- Similar to what Allen has discussed
- Make him a custom trucker hat
