- Big problem is having too many things to remember
- Undervalue forgetting things
- Making notes in Twos on the way to the dentist
- Accumulate things, was watching a stream with two youtubers, obsidian, logseq, video editing, where is it? Took 5 minutes to find. Tagged as youtube and not video
- The more you accumlate, the harder it gets to find things
- He's a manager, work notes, tons of meetings, tried logseq for meeting notes, has excellent tagging, people, topics, smorgasbord of information when clicking on a person
- Analog bujo, you forget and need to rewrite things, needing to rewrite is a feature, you end up with just the information that matters
- Collect more than decide
- ✓ Building a second brain by Tiago Forte, program in Europe subscription like spotify but like audible, idea of organizing by topic vs purpose, may not be worth saving if you don't know what you will use it for
- Has used agenda, craft, roam
- Wanted to migrate old stuff from tools to a new tool, but he never would, it never really mattered
- Why do I keep abandoning apps?
- They have too much baggage
- Biggest problem you know yo u wrote something down but you can't find it
- ✓ Diacritic like ü, most apps understand if you miss a diacritic, it will still surface
- Work related: have a ton of stuff to do, david allen, typical ceo has on a monday todo list more things than a normal person can get done in a week, write them down and then review and see what's important, write them down is most important, bigger projects with more than one action, organizational methods, list of projects, brainstorming, list of projects, goes through list and see what the next actions deceptively simple, simplify, reason why he doesn't like notion, takes too much time to organize and structure. Loves the simplicity of Twos. Link sublists to multiple context, super helpful
- Loved logseq
- Right balance now with private and public, easily publish a list, if you had the feature to share easily he would be worried about sharing things on accident
- People using obsidian publish their whole vault, crazy people
- Spoke with a Craft dev on the phone, they had a dash for quick capture. They wanted it to be like a message, not a note-taking app, but they have changed that, went in a different direction
- Long form multiple paragraph freaked him out, likes the differentiator, think it gives us our character
- Format the whole thing upset him at first, but came to really enjoy it, gives more purpose behind what type of things he is writing down
- The right limitation of formatting options, too much formatting would cause too many options
- Found the local vs cloud storage conversation very nice, it wasn't argumentative, you guys laid out your values and vision and how we will operate, it provides safety to walk away, it is nice to have stability, important
- Refreshing to hear people express their view in an open and honest way
- Data points: subscription and one-off purchase. agenda has a subscription, but if you play on jan 1 you get the premium features so far and for the next year, stop paying you wont lose what you have, just no new features. You can still use it without the premium features, used it for a long time, overload hit him and stopped using, subscription doesn't justify Craft, agenda is more comfortable
- Add a tip jar, we ruined it by giving him everything
- A bundle would be a bit cheaper, would rather pay for the bundle if there is a bunch of one-time purchases
