Twoooooos! I get this question a lot, “Why is it called Twos?“. And it makes sense to ask because “Twos“ isn't a real word. So let me explain by telling you the story about how “Twos” was born. Back in 2015, before I had started working on Twos or had thought of the idea, I had a girlfriend, shoutout Elise. One night we were out to dinner and we were having a great time. We were enjoying each other's company, the restaurant was nice, the food was tasty, and out of nowhere, I threw up a peace sign and yelled “Twoooos“ in the middle of the restaurant. It was sudden, unexpected, and made no sense, but we laughed about it and decided to make it our inside joke, to throw up a peace sign and yell Twoooos when good things happened. Fast forward a year to 2016, and I was working on the app, which at the time, was nameless and a private first social media app. Just like Twos today, everything you wrote was initially private, but then you could choose individual things you wanted to share with others. Since the app had two sides to it (the private and the social side), I felt like Twos was a great name for the tool. We made the “like“ button on the social side a peace sign so when people would “like“ something someone shared, you'd be celebrating the thing they chose to share while also spreading peace. That's why it's called Twos. Thank you to a spontaneous celebration, thank you, Elise, thank you for helping spread peace celebrate good things, and thank you for watching. Twoooooos!
