Village Global Accelerator
by Joe · 40 things on Twos
- What's your company's name?
- Twos Technologies Incorporated
- Which sector best fits your startup?
- Consumer Services (Includes media)
- What's the 1-line descriptor for your startup?
- Twos helps you stop forgetting things.
- What problem do you solve?
- People forgetting things.
- What's your unique insight, approach, or advantage?
- Current solutions are focused on documenting information. Twos is focused on helping people remember pieces of information with our quick and organized system of days, lists, and things.
- How big is the market? Walk us through how there will be a $10B player in this market.
- Everybody forgets things, especially busy people. There will be a platform that helps quickly capture and organize things people want to remember throughout life, and Twos will be that platform. Twos revenue will be $1B+ by adding a social layer so people can share things they write privately.
- What's your business model? Walk us through how you'll make $100M in annual revenue.
- Twos will make money by selling coins for new features and customizations, similar to mobile games. We are also creating a marketplace for valuable information where Twos takes a commission. Information is an asset and people will buy valuable information from people; like Oprah's book notes.
- Why are you working on this problem?
- Parker struggled with depression in college and turned to a Word document to divulge his thoughts. The experience was slow, tedious, and disorganized. Parker recently left Google where we worked as an iOS developer. Joe has sales/startup experience and found Twos valuable to combat his ADHD.
- What are your competitors? How are you different & better?
- Paper, Post-its, emailing/texting yourself, Notion, Apple Notes, among other applications. None of these systems are organized enough to help you remember pieces of information, just document it. The Twos system of days, lists, and things makes organizing and remembering information quick, easy, and fun.
- What are the biggest risks you foresee?
- Competition from a larger social media player implementing a private first side of the platform, like we are working on, and not hiring and growing fast enough to capture a large share of the market and keep the platform secure for our users.
- Which best describes your stage as a startup?
- Post-launch, pre-product market fit.
- What traction have you had to-date?
- 924 users three months ago, 960 two months ago, and 1111 last month. We have accomplished these figures while spending less than $200 on advertising.
- What is your monthly cash burn, and how many months of runway do you have?
- Our monthly burn is $48 and our runway is 10+ years. Living expenses excluded.
