- The road to product market fit
- Talking to and learning from users should be the number one priority
- Thinks it is really great that we are talking to and emailing existing users to learn how and why they are using it
- Get into publications for remember/forgetting things
- Talk to doctors who specialize in memory, they may recommend it to their patience
- Private Facebook groups
- Beacon mobile gets 90% of its leads from a private Facebook group for car wash owners. People ask questions and their current customers refer them to beacon mobile to solve their problems
- B2B play in doctors offices could be a move. Give them a number of profiles for a cost. Probably need collab and sharing
- "If people are paying for your product you know you are on to something"
- Facebook and Google ads are worthless unless you have a target market and a way to get to them
- Start a blog on remembering things. Make a post a month. You will have 12 posts a year that will be indexed by Google and will continue to give you leads for years to come. He wishes they had started that earlier
- Marketing is throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. Try different markets, try different mediums. Once you hit product market fit and your users are growing rapidly you will know what works but until then you just have to continue to try things
- Incentivize people to work for you. Maybe a referral program for doctors, publicists
- Money talks and keeps people interested
- Paying people for feedback gets to the truth. Give $100 Amazon gift card, etc.
- We could also do a prize for a competition, win an iPad if you fill out a survey
- We can write articles for things to do to prepare for school and one step is use twos. Could be for anything
- You never know who your target market will be so getting in front of as many people as possible and seeing who it resonates with will get us there eventually, conventions are great for this
- There will be a niche that it resonates with the most. Figuring this out is the key
- Beacon mobile:
- 7-eleven deal is api only. Scaling slowly. Enterprise
- They are rolling out 100 locations in Texas, 100 in Florida, 100 in Virginia, then expanding from there
- Scaling slowly is great
- He will still need to deliver
- Beacon mobile is hiring for customer support. Talking to an agency in New York
- He will hire engineers after customer support
- Had AWS issues this morning where he needed to restart his database. Build a resilient backend before it is needed. That is the hard part of know what to do before you need it
- They spend money on marketing ads to car wash publications like magazines, websites, articles
