You are your body, your actions, your words. You are not the constant humming of thoughts and ideas in your head. You are separate from them. You can stop them. You can see them for what they are, thoughts. Thoughts can be changed, controlled, and influenced. It is up to us to recognize the thoughts we are having and decide if they are helping or hurting us. If they aren’t helping, we can change them. We can think a different way. We can think differently about a person, a situation, an event. “Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so”. It is bad because we think it is bad, or it is bad because we say it is bad, but really it just is. What happens happens. What happened happened. And a lot of “good” comes from things we consider “bad.” We learn and can do better in the future. We learn how we can make better decisions or that we are stronger than we originally thought. It is all how you think about the situation and only you control how you think about the situation. We do not control how other people think about the situation or the things they say so we must accept them. We can attempt to help and influence, but they must see it for themselves. You are not your thoughts. You exist, thoughts come and go and can be changed. Change your thoughts, change your outlook, and you and your actions will change.
